Garage says - chop the Cinq in
There are several issues on my '97 Cinq Sporting currently -
1. Oil is still exiting through the recently-replaced rocker cover gasket and, to a lesser extent, the oil filler cap. The level on the dipstick remains on max. though. (Noticed a split on the curved part of the filler cap recently - this may be playing a part?) 2. Coolant is still being forced up through the filler cap. 3. Fan wouldn't come on today en route to work - temp reached 90, no fan. Got it working later, but now fan comes on at 100 degrees. What??? Garage says oil and coolant problems are probably due to general pressure build-up in the engine (worn crankshaft was mentioned) and suggests I chop the car in - "while you've still got something to chop in". Anyone agree with this gloomy pronouncement? __________________ |
