Seicento engine control system failure light - Turpis - 12-20-2011 05:34 AM Can anyone help me? I've just bought a 2000 Seicento 1.1 Michael Schumaker edition and drove it for about 30 miles today and saw the amber Engine Control System Failure light come on and stay on. I drove it to Tescos and left it in the car park for about half an hour and when i started the car again the light had gone off and it didn't go back on for the 5 mile journey home. The handbook suggests fuel feed or ignition system failure but everything seems to be OK the performance is good. The engine idles a little roughly but according to the ex-Fiat salesman that sold me the car privately that is something quite common on these cars. Does anyone out there have any similar experience with this sort of problem? thanks RE: Seicento engine control system failure light - LeadFoot - 12-20-2011 05:47 AM Without knowing the code that it was throwing it could be anything. Most local auto parts stores will read these codes for you for free (using an ODBII scanner). If you'd like to pull the code yourself, just pickup something like this: http://www.amazon.com/OBDII-Engine-Scanner-Trouble-Reader/dp/B000LEPT5G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1324360032&sr=8-3 |
